Holiday Gift Bath Crystals

Greetings, its time to start thinking of lovely gifts, for giving.  It sure was a fabulous fall, and winter has arrived here in my little corner of the planet.  I personally love to make most of my holiday gifts, its so fun, plus its also a creative outlet.  Bath crystals are always welcome for all the bathing beauties in your life.  I think that most people don't really realize how easy these bath crystals are to make.  Another plus to this, is that you know exactly what is in them.  And its all good stuff.

Alright lets start with ingredients, which most of these items can be found at your local grocery store.  For instance rock salt, its at all grocery stores. Along with baking soda, and food coloring.  Sea salt, epsom salt, celtic sea salt, and essential oils can all be found at health food stores, or ordered online.  Azure Standard is a great place to find these items. https://www.azurestandard.com/  You will also need a big glass or plastic jar to mix it all up in.  So the ingredients are as follows:

3 cups rock salt
20 drops food coloring
1 to 2 teaspoons essential oil
1 cup baking soda
3 cups sea salt
1 cup celtic sea salt or Epsom salt

First put the rock salt in the mixing container, add the food coloring, then the essential oil.  Put the lid on it and shake it up really well.  For this particular batch I used ylang ylang essential oil, (ee-lang ee-lang).  I am absolutely in love with this essential oil, its very exotic and floral.  In fact ylang ylang means "Flower of Flowers."  Its slightly spicy, and native to Madagascar. In other words it makes you want to do what bunnies do. But by all means use whatever scent you like.  Then comes the baking soda, add, and shake.  Then the sea salt, add, and shake. Then the epsom salts.  For this batch I used celtic sea salt, because that is what I had at the house.  And there you have it.

This part is really fun, finding cool jars and container to put your goodness into.  I have been really fond of Ball canning jars lately.  They have come out with some really cute styles, quite different from the traditional jars.  So just fill you jars accordingly. Now we get to move onto decoration, how fun it that.

Use the lid as a template to cut cute paper or cardstock.  If you have labels that is great too.  Lace or twine always look nice.  Just be creative, and use whatever you have around the house.  Now you will have several little jars, for your gift baskets.  Or just had them out by themselves.  Have a very blessed day, peace and creativity to all ~ Dacia
